This painting is part of a continuing series of studies of the spiritual energy of trees and their attending spirit guardians.

I have always found stands of birch trees growing together a bit magical. In the winter, they become even more mysterious, as though many eyes are watching...a snow white stag navigates the swaying trees protecting the gentle trees from harm.
